A document won't download

Resolve blocked pop-ups, find downloaded files and check company network restrictions.

If a document won't download, work through the checks below. They apply whether you use a fynk account or access a document as an external recipient.

1. Check for a blocked pop-up in Chrome

If clicking Download PDF appears to do nothing, Chrome may have blocked the window used for the download.

  1. Look for the Pop-up blocked icon on the right of the address bar.

  2. Click it and open the blocked link. Alternatively, select Always allow pop-ups and redirects from this site for the fynk site and confirm with Done.

  3. Try the download again.

If your company manages this setting and you can't change it, contact your IT team. See Chrome's instructions for blocked pop-ups.

2. Check whether the file downloaded already

Open your browser's download list and check your computer's Downloads folder. The file may have been saved without opening automatically.

3. Check company network restrictions

Company firewalls or web filters can block services used to deliver files. If the download still fails, ask your IT team to check whether fynk's document downloads are allowed.

Share these details with IT:

  • Hostname: s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com

  • Bucket path: /fynk-production-app/

  • Protocol and port: HTTPS, port 443

  • Download URL prefix: https://s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/fynk-production-app/

The PDF downloads but doesn't open

If the file is downloaded but Chrome doesn't display it, enter chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments in the address bar and check whether Chrome is set to open PDFs or download them. You can also open the downloaded file in a PDF reader.
